Slow down they're saying. Yup, you heard it right. NASCAR is telling their drivers to slow it down at Daytona and Talladege Speedway.
This is the newest news by NASCAR as they continue to search for the best safety measures for their drivers.
On Tuesday every NASCAR Race team received a updated rules bulletin containing news rules and guidelines that will be effective at the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona on Aug, 28th and at the October's YellaWood 500 at Talladega on Oct, 23rd.
What did the rules bulletin read? Well, long story short, it simply told crews to reduce the horsepower and speeds for Cup Series cars. They want the cars reduced from 7-to-10 mph. They hope that this change will maintain the drivers integrity if they were ever to be involved in a rollover.
Logans wreck also sparked more changes within NASCAR. Those changes include reducing the tapered spacer from 57/64-inch to 53/64-inch, each car’s rear spoiler will lose its wickerbill from the spoiler, an inch-wide metal strip that helps with aero control, which Logan said in a statement was a huge contributor on why his car left the pavement. An additional roll bar behind the driver will now be mandatory and not left up to the drivers anymore as well.
