A Look At The All New Next-Gen Ford Mustang S650

While surfing the web this week, we here at Gear Head have noticed that the seventh-generation version of Ford's pony car was being tested at the Ford company's development center earlier this week, reveling its first look at the 2024 Ford Mustang S650.

I don't know about you, but I believe it is well overdue for a new generation Mustang to roam our streets and in these photos and videos, that is exactly what we see. I am pretty excited to see what they have in store for us.

The launch of this American Muscle car is expected to be released as early as next year as a 2024 model. The Mustang S650 will be Fords newest Mustang in nearly a decade.

It is difficult to discern a lot of the details on this car, but here is what we can kinda make out.

The next gen Mustang S650 looks like it has a more angular front end than the older model.

The camo on this prototype looks to be very extensive, but we can see the lines of a long-hood, which resembles a coupe lurking under all that vehicle fabric.

The running lights reveal very little about its design, though it's possible that FORD will be adding their C-clamp-style lamps back to the upcoming coupe, and their two vertical elements on the taillights is pointing in the direction of once again seeing the return of sequential indicators.

We can also see the slim headlights peeking through all that camo, with an oval-shaped front grill that looks similar to the 2015 S550 model.

When looking at this image you will notice a lower grill beneath that larger upper grill, which can also be spotted on the previous version. What we can't figure out though, is why does this model have a sharp/raised line in the middle of the hood?

It is hard to point out every detail on this car, but we will continue to follow its devolvement. We do know that this S650 Mustang will continue to be built at the Ford Flat Rock Assembly Plant located in Rock, Michigan, so you too can follow the growth of this Muscle Car.

Recent rumors have suggested further downsizing will happen with this Mustang's engine and the potential introduction of both all-wheel drive and electrified models. Hybrids utilizing the 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder found in the base car and EcoBoost high performance models, along with one based on what appears to be a variant of the Coyote V8 have been suggested, and the Ford's 10-speed automatic, which is already utilized in the current Mustang, was designed for their hybrid vehicles such as the 2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid.

Wider Tires

A quick look at the tires suggests the rear tires are 275s, which is odd because they are the same width available on the Mach 1.

When will this car be released? That is unsure, but we're expecting a debut sometime in 2023 as a 2024 model.
